Opening Checkpoint
This week tested me.
The cabin was a bust.
The workouts didn’t happen.
My weight went up by 2 lbs.
Every quest I’m working on stalled at the same time.
It’s frustrating.
It’s annoying.
It’s one of those weeks where you feel like you’re trying to move forward but the ground isn’t giving you anything back.
But here’s the part that matters:
I still showed up.
I’m still writing this.
I’m still keeping the cadence alive.
And sometimes, consistency is the only progress you get.
Quest Log
Rebuilding the Direction
Every active quest lives here. Even when they don’t move.
1. The Health Quest
No workouts.
No routine.
A small gain instead of a loss.
It’s frustrating because I know exactly what I need to do — and I didn’t do it.
But the quest isn’t gone.
It’s still here.
Still waiting for the next step.
2. The Cabin Creation Quest
The cabin didn’t happen.
I went.
I tried.
But nothing moved.
It’s annoying because the next steps are simple:
- attach the wall clock
- install the LED lights
And yet the week just didn’t line up.
The cabin is paused, not abandoned.
3. The Exercise Quest
Still stuck.
Still resisting.
Still avoiding.
And after talking with my partner, the idea of switching back to day shifts isn’t financially doable right now.
It’s still something I want long‑term, but it’s not a change I can make yet.
So the quest stays the same:
- attempt one workout
- build the smallest possible routine
- keep the friction low
Frustrating, but still active.
Patterns I Noticed
Frustration is a signal - It shows me exactly where the friction is.
The quests don’t disappear - Even when nothing moves, they stay alive.
Cadence matters - Writing this newsletter is the only thing that kept the week from drifting.
Life doesn’t always align - The day‑shift idea needs more time and stability.
Reps are the real work - Especially with the thought dumps.
What I’m Trying Next
Same steps as last week, because they’re still the right ones:
attach the wall clock
install the LED lights
continue portion control
reduce chocolate slips
attempt one workout
keep building the routine of least resistance
get reps in with the thought dumps
No new quests.
No new plans.
Just the same steps, repeated until they move.
Tiny Wins
Kept the newsletter cadence
Stayed honest about the week
Didn’t drift
Clarified the day‑shift situation
Held onto the quests even without progress
Started preparing for thought dump reps
Tiny wins in a frustrating week still count.
